In 1989 after many years in the motor vehicle and vehicle construction trades, Kevin Buckley formed Avon Classic Cars to cater for the restoration and repair of classic cars.


By forming his own business this meant he could turn out work to his very own high standard, and not be governed by bosses wanting to make profit at the expense of quality. The business soon grew as did Avon Classic’s reputation for quality and workmanship. Avon Classic Cars now operates from a more modern premises in Weston-Super-Mare with both state of the art facilities and classic tools and equipment, as well as utilising many of the latest technologies, enabling Kevin and his team to restore and craft classics to the highest standards. Kevin (father) and Alex (son) work together to produce the finest finished vehicles that not only look good but will last for years to come, (see Scimitar in gallery restored by Kevin, completed 1991), and will never compromise on their high standards.

Some vehicles we work on only need part of their restoration done, while others may need their entire restoration done from the ground up.

Fully equipped body shop. High spec modern spray booth Valuable bodywork should receive specialised repair care. Your car will leave our shop in showroom condition.

We undertake insurance repair work on classics only. We will liase with the insurance company on your behalf to ensure your vehicle is repaired correctly.

Car restoration

At Avon Classic Cars we do not carry out fixed price restorations as we believe without a crystal ball this is not possible and still be able to produce the quality of work required.  Every restoration is different and each will produce it’s own challenges and problems to be dealt with.  Upon inspection we will endeavour to give a guide to the amount of hours required to complete the restoration.

Initial contact can be by phone, email or call in to see us, (appointment advisable).  We prefer to assess the project at our premises but we can do this at a home visit, (small charge may apply).Once we have started your restoration you will be kept informed of progress, we encourage work shop visits during the restoration to see progress and discuss any options.  If this is not possible you will be kept upto date via emails and of course the usual photographic record at the end.
