Southern Roadcraft SRV12 (Daytona)
We received the Daytona partially stripped with some work already carried out.
Our brief was to carry out a full paint strip, level out the GRP body imperfections and respray in House Of Kolor black.
First stage was to completely remove the old layers of paint back to the GRP by hand and fill any imperfections we couldn't block out.
As part of the works the client asked us to modify the hood frame so that is closed within the interior as he wanted a hard hood cover manufactured.
After the polyurethane resin coat was blocked down, again by hand, we then applied a House of Kolor epoxy primer. This was once again blocked down by hand before the colour coats were applied.
We then applied a black sealer and House Of Kolor black basecoat
House Of Kolor clear was then applied
The clearcoat was then hand flatted to create a smooth flat surface ready for compounding
Once the entire car was flatted back to 3000 grade we could begin compounding.
